High-Tech Sells High-Tech

Electronics accessories are a rewarding vending product: they do not spoil, are compact and have high profit margins — with charging cables often several hundred percent markup. Locations such as airports, train stations, hotels or co-working spaces bring the necessary footfall. But anyone selling expensive tech needs a secure machine. Our electronics series offers reinforced safety glass, anti-pry locking and a gentle lift dispensing so that sensitive goods are not damaged. On the touchscreen, customers check compatibility before buying — for example, whether the cable fits the iPhone 15. For company locations, RFID company cards can be stored so employees can obtain accessories to a cost centre.

Electronics Machines: Technology and Configuration

For selling electronics, security and gentle dispensing count. Lift dispensing for break-sensitive goods, reinforced safety glass, ESD-safe compartments for electrostatically sensitive components. Cooling is not needed, room temperature is enough. Our machines offer flexible compartment sizes for charging cables, power banks, headphones, USB sticks or adapters. All units come with telemetry (fill levels, revenue) and a 43–55" touchscreen for compatibility checks and product info. On standby the screen plays third-party advertising (DOOH revenue) — a second revenue stream that refinances your purchase. At company locations, the RFID connection allows purchases against an employee badge. Electronics machines are priced at 4,000–10,000 €.

Electronics Machine in Use

Airport

An operator puts an electronics machine in an airport terminal. Travellers buy charging cables, adapters and pre-charged power banks around the clock by card or smartphone. The telemetry app reports when restocking is needed. Result: steady revenue at a location with a constant emergency demand.

Hotel

In a hotel stands a vyndo electronics machine. Guests who have forgotten a cable or headphones buy around the clock. The touchscreen checks compatibility, and third-party advertising runs on standby. Especially in the evening, when shops are closed, the machine generates revenue. The gross margin is 50–65%.

Office / Campus

In an office building an electronics machine supplies employees with USB sticks, batteries, cables and headsets. Via stored RFID company cards, staff obtain accessories directly to a cost centre — without an ordering process. That relieves procurement and saves trips.

Electronics Machine: Technology, Costs and Profitability

The market for electronics in vending is growing, because customers expect availability around the clock and a fast buying experience. An electronics machine from vyndo delivers exactly that. The investment is 4,000–10,000 €. At a gross margin of 50–65% and a high-traffic location, the unit pays for itself in around 6 to 12 months. Running costs: power (electronics need no cooling, therefore low), goods purchase and optionally a SIM card for the telemetry. The advantage over classic retail: no staff, no opening hours, no shop rent — plus anti-theft protection for high-value goods. Typical locations: airports, hotels, offices, universities, train stations. TSE-compliant under the KassenSichV.

Product Requirements and Security

Electronics have their own requirements for dispensing and protection. Temperature: room temperature, no cooling needed. ESD-safe compartments protect electrostatically sensitive components, and lift dispensing prevents breakage of sensitive goods. Against theft, reinforced safety glass and anti-pry locking protect; the telemetry reports vibrations and opening attempts immediately. That way you secure even high-priced accessories.

Financing Your Electronics Machine

You have three options: purchase (4,000–10,000 €), rental from a one-day term or leasing from 99 €/month. With leasing, the machine ideally finances itself from the ongoing income. The instalments are tax-deductible as operating expenses. With rental, maintenance is often included – ideal for getting started or test phases.

Frequently Asked Questions Electronics

How secure are the goods?

We use "vending locks" and safety glass. Telemetry reports vibrations.

What if the product is faulty?

Returns at the machine are usually not possible, you should provide a support hotline/email.

Can you sell expensive phones?

Yes, technically possible (up to 1000€+), but high break-in risk. We rather recommend accessories up to 100€.

Do large headphones fit?

Yes, we can configure wide compartments.

Which payment methods are supported?

Customers pay by girocard, credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and on request with coins and notes. At the electronics machine, contactless payment is especially important because many purchases happen at travel hotspots such as airports and train stations, where the clientele is international and often uses only card or smartphone. An NFC terminal completes the purchase of a forgotten power bank or a charging cable in seconds. At company locations, offices and campus sites you can integrate RFID employee badges on request, practical for purchases to a company account. All machines are TSE-compliant under the KassenSichV. We configure the payment systems to suit your location and range.

Do I need a permit for an electronics machine?

On private property — for example in a hotel, an office foyer or an airport terminal (by contract with the operator) — you usually need no separate permit. What is needed is the business registration. On public ground you need a special-use permit from the municipality. Since the machine works with a payment function, the TSE obligation under the KassenSichV applies — our units meet it ex works. For electronics, no food hygiene rules apply. If you sell battery-powered goods, mind the take-back obligation under the BattG. We advise you on the right configuration and security equipment for your location.

How does remote monitoring work?

Via the telemetry software you monitor fill levels, revenue and device status in real time on smartphone or desktop. At the electronics machine this counts especially, because charging cables, power banks and adapters are high-margin and can sell out quickly at travel hotspots such as airports or train stations. The software shows you early which items are running low, so you do not lose revenue during peak times through empty compartments. With high-value goods, the device status is also important: an open door or a fault is reported immediately, which also benefits the anti-theft protection. That way you only drive out to restock when it is worthwhile. We install updates over-the-air, so an on-site visit is not needed.
